Itinerary

Day 1

Drive to Nandal and Ascending to Advanced Camp (4350 m)

Drive via Haraz road to Nandal village located in the north face of Damavand. Then transfer to the start point of the trekking trail by pickup (Nissan mini truck).

Mules will transport the luggage. The trekking takes 6-7 hours leading to Damavand Advanced Camp (4350 m). Welcome drink and snack upon arrival. After relaxation & practice and a review of mountaineering essential skills, it’s time for dinner.

Drive distance: 156 km on road, 4-5 hours / 12 km on dirt road, 1 hour / Trekking start point: 2650m

Trek time: 6-7 hours

Altitude gain: 1700m

Day 2

 Acclimatization Day

Half-day trek up to 4650m to acclimatize in the path leading to the summit and return to advanced camp.

Trek time: 3-4 hours up and down

Day 3

Summit Day

Early morning wake up, after breakfast climbing (slowly and as a team). Reaching the summit, a short stop to visit Damavand caldera and the old crater of the volcano. Visiting sulfur fumarole and taking photos. Return to the Advanced Camp. After a well-deserved rest, it’s time for dinner

Trek time: approx. 12 hours up and down

Day 4

Descending and Drive Back to Tehran

Trekking back to the start point of the track after breakfast, the backpacks will be transported by mules. Transfer to Nandal by pickup (Nissan mini truck). Go to the restaurant for lunch and then drive back to Tehran.

Drive distance: 5 km on a dirt road, 45 minutes / 150 km from Nandal to Tehran, approx. 4-5 hours

Trek time: 4 hours down
