Why climbing Damavand

Routes to climb Damavand

There are several routes to climb Damavand Summit in different faces. The most common one is the south rout which is very crowded and polluted. The West rout is the other one with erosive land and glaciers which can harden climber’s ascending. The two other routes are located in the North side of Damavand summit; both are extremely intact and spectacular with a rich bio diversity and outstanding scenic beauty.

 

The best route to climb

While the northern route is almost challenging and steep, the most accessible and worthy face to climb is the North-East. There are also comfortable and professional mountain camp sites in this route including Damavand Camp. There are two main camps in different altitudes: the base camp in located in Nandal village in the height of 2300 meters, and advanced camp in the height of 4320 meters. Climbers from all over the world have the opportunity to benefit from both camps services and safe their ascending. Except these major climbing routes, several other mountain routes end to the summit and allow climbers to ascend the top.

 

When to climb Damavand

Since Damavand is a High Mountain with the elevation of more than 5000 meters above the sea level, experienced rough winters with the temperature of 40 degrees minus zero. As it is extremely hard to fight with the coldness and required especial equipment to reach to the top, most climbers have the preference to ascend Damavand summit in the summer and sometimes spring with a pleasant weather.

The second month of summer is the best time to plan a safe and joyful climb to Mount Damavand due to its suitable climbing condition and expected nice weather.

There is also snow and storm in summer time occasionally, but most of the times climbing has not encounter any crucial problem.
